Looking For Work In Sales? Here's How To Create Your Dream Sales Gig

Are you a new sales rep looking to find a great account/influencer/business to sell for?


Maybe a current online sales rep looking to find a new position? While most sales reps will be drastically underpaid for the value that they bring to their accounts, this article uncovers how you can create your dream sales gig. Why sell for somebody else?

  1. A good gig will market for you

  2. You don’t have fulfillment work

  3. You truly set your own schedule

  4. You can use your commissions to fund other ventures that create wealth


My sales background:

  1. My first “true” sales job was for GNC

  2. By setting company sales records, I was promoted to manager

  3. Once I’d capped my earning potential at GNC, I started my own fitness consulting business, and dove right in

  4. I sucked for a year on my own until...

  5. I got smart enough to hire a coach

  6. By simply using their sales script, I closed 7.5k in new business in my first week

  7. Grew the business to multiple 6 figures in annual revenue over the next year

  8. Got tired of selling fitness, and I left the business

  9. Started selling for the business that made me successful in my own

  10. Wanted to diversify what I was selling to create more stability

  11. I found an influencer that was growing quickly

  12. Reached out and found out he had an affiliate program for 40% commission

  13. I began selling his offer as an affiliate on my own

  14. After making a few sales, I proposed coming on to sell full-time

  15. Took his business from 20k/mo to over 100k/mo in 3 months

  16. Created my own sales methodologies

  17. Began coaching sales in both influencers’ programs

  18. As I documented my own sales processes, I was able to start handing off calls to reps

  19. I now manage sales teams and make overrides on company revenue



Keys to finding a role:

  • Invest in a program you would love to sell to learn it inside and out


  • Sell an influencer’s programs through their affiliate program (or ask if they’d be open to setting up an affiliate arrangement for you)

    • After making sales for them, sell them on why they should bring you onto the team

    • “Be of value to valuable people"


  • Go with a sales agency only IF:

    • You value the coaching that you will receive more than the commissions (because you will make less in the short term, but increase your earning potential long-term)
